A doença de Parkinson é a doença degenerativa do sistema nervoso cujos sinais clínicos são mais susceptíveis de se modificar pela acção de diversas drogas. Desde muito cedo se verificou, empiricamente, uma redução da intensidade do tremor e da rigidez após a administração de fármacos com acção anticolinérgica.
